On February 29, 2016 an ATV/UTV club was started in Manitoba…The Belair ATV Manitoba. Hartley Pokrant, President of the Belair ATV Club, was pleased to announce the formation of their club and affiliation with ATV Manitoba as a member. The new ATV club has been fostered with support of the local recreational users and municipal support with a potential to grow multi-use trails on crown and private lands within the Belair Forest being in the center of the catchment area.

There are other recreational trail uses in the area for which BELAIR ATV CLUB is developing working relationships including the local snowmobile clubs (part of SNOMAN) and the Red River North Trail Association Inc. (RRNTA), which are also stewards for the Trans Canada Trail in the RMs of Alexander and St. Clements and the Town of Powerview – Pine Falls.

President, Hartley Pokrant looked forward to working with the SNOMAN and ATVMB clubs to develop relationships through sharing of ideas and education for users. Local Municipal support is critical for Belair ATV CLUB in order to bring a coordinated awareness campaign to local full time residents along with seasonal recreators.  There are several hundred kilometers of  trails in the Belair Forest  and the Belair ATV Club manages and signs a large network of designated trails approved by the Province..

The Belair ATV Club captures a wide array of picturesque trails in the beautiful Belair Forest and access to the outstanding east beaches area and includes endless sandy forest trails and some former rail line corridors.  Pokrant noted that there is a unique opportunity in the future to provide multi-use community to community trail connectivity via a recently transferred rail line corridor running from East Selkirk to Pine Falls, being the former CEMR (previously CN Rail line).

In March of 2024 the Belair ATV Club was handed over to the now president, Bill Marsh. Since accepting the club, Bill has incorporated the club and organized a board of directors to run the club. It is now known as Belair ATV Club Inc. The new board has developed a trail strategy that will see better groomed and brushed trails with proper signage. The new government funding from ATVMB will help with getting the club in better shape.

BELAIR ATV CLUB Inc…. Enjoy the trails!
